gold deposit

Alpha Butte

Recently, the US Geological Survey re-analyzed a large collection of stream sediment and soil samples from Northern Nevada for gold (Au) and its associated pathfinder elements, arsenic (As) and antimony (Sb). This data has revitalized exploration in Nevada by revealing new anomalous areas for exploration. One anomaly lies along the northern slopes of Alpha Butte where several streams bear strongly enriched gold, arsenic and antimony.

Examination by Evolving Gold discovered numerous historic prospect pits and workings scattered over about 12 sections. Coarse gold has also been found on the property which may originate from high grade mesothermal quartz veins. While there is evidence of drilling within the past 40 years, the area has not experienced exploration in recent times.

Because of the strongly anomalous geochemistry, widespread indications of mineralization, and close proximity to several multi-million oz gold deposits, Evolving Gold has staked 62 claims over this property, covering about 1,200 acres of Bureau of Land Management maintained land with federal minerals. In 2007, Evolving Gold geologists conducted an intensive mapping and sampling program over the property to identify the sources of Au, As and Sb anomalies, and to define initial targets for a future drilling campaign.
