Winnemucca Mountain

High-grade gold veins outcrop along the western flanks of Winnemucca Mountain a few miles west of the town of Winnemucca, NV. The nature of these veins is very similar to other significant deposits in the region including those at the multi-million oz gold Sleeper and Midas mines.

On examining the property and reviewing the historic, positive, drill data Evolving Gold struck an agreement to earn a 100% interest in the 5,200 acre property from a local landholder. In September, 2005 Evolving Gold Corp entered into an earn-in agreement with Meridian Gold Inc, under which Meridian can earn a 70% interest in the property by completion of the stipulated payments and expenditures. Evolving and Meridian will then establish a joint venture in respect of the Property and Meridian Gold will contribute a further 136 claims that adjoin the Property.

A drill program was completed by Meridian in early 2007, and results are pending, and Meridian has recently made required land payments to Evolving.
